Account Expansion Signals

Checks your managed CRM accounts against Firmable's signal data for headcount growth, new office openings, and funding raised this quarter, the leading indicators of who's ready for more seats or a higher plan.

Find your next upsell before your competitors do. Checks your managed CRM accounts against Firmable’s signal data for headcount growth, new office openings, and funding raised this quarter, the leading indicators of who’s ready for more seats or a higher plan.

Most expansion tracks company growth directly. A customer that just grew headcount, opened a new office, or raised funding is far more likely to need an upgrade than one that hasn’t changed. This skill connects that growth data straight back to the accounts a rep or CS owner is responsible for.

What It Does

  • CRM-agnostic detection: Reads managed accounts and owners from HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or MS Dynamics 365 Sales without assuming which one you run.
  • Flexible scope: Checks all of a rep’s managed accounts, one named account, or any CRM-defined segment, always confirmed upfront rather than assumed.
  • Timestamped signal matching: Uses Firmable’s signal agents to catch headcount growth, new offices, and funding events dated within the current quarter, not just a point-in-time snapshot.
  • Owner-ready output: Every row includes the CRM account owner, so the table is something a rep can act on immediately, not just read.
  • Honest fallback : If no signal agent is set up yet, says so plainly and offers a clearly-labelled snapshot check instead of quietly guessing at “this quarter.”

Use Cases

Quarterly Expansion Review

Run this at the start of each quarter to hand every rep a ready-made list of accounts showing real growth signals on their own book.

CS Renewal Prep

Check a specific account before a renewal or QBR to walk in already knowing whether they’ve grown headcount or raised a round since you last talked.

Segment-Level Upsell Sweep

Point it at a plan tier, region, or renewal-date window to find expansion candidates across a slice of the book rather than one account at a time.

# Account expansion signals

For a set of managed CRM accounts (all of the user's, one account, or a segment, always confirmed), check Firmable for company-growth signals this quarter: headcount growth, new office openings, and funding raised. Output is a summary table in chat, grouped by signal type, with the CRM account owner included so it's directly actionable.

## Workflow

0. Detect the connected CRM — check loaded tools or search for one; a dedicated reference file covers query syntax for HubSpot versus other CRMs.
1. Ask which accounts to check: all of the user's managed accounts, one named account, or a segment, never assumed.
2. Pull the matching accounts and their CRM owner from the connected CRM.
3. Resolve each account to a Firmable company via bulk_get_companies (credit-charged) or a free name-based fallback.
4. Find an existing signal agent covering headcount, new office, and funding signals for this account list, or set one up via a Firmable list if none exists yet, offering a clearly-labelled snapshot check as an interim option.
5. Present a summary table grouped by signal type, with the account owner on every row.
